HAND THERAPY

We have Whangarei's only specialised Hand Therapy Clinic providing treatment for hand and wrist injuries. We provide customised splinting and braces as required. Currently ACC Hand Therapy Treatment is funded under a separate Hand Therapy Contract. There is no client surcharge for ACC Hand treatments.

(A charge will apply for materials required that are outside the Hand Therapy Contract.)


Jane Sweeney (Senior Hand Therapist)
Reg. Hand Therapist, MNZAHT

Jane is our senior hand therapist and also works as Senior Therapist at Whangarei Hospital. Jane provides comprehensive assessments and treatment of all hand therapy conditions and custom makes any splinting required. Currently ACC Hand therapy treatments are fully funded under a separate hand therapy contract. Some material charges may apply.

Julie Taylor Senior Manipulative Therapist, Reg. Hand Therapist, MNZSP, BHSc Physio, PGDip Musculo and MHPrac with distinction.

Julie has recently completed her Clinical Masters majoring in Hand and Upper Limb therapy. Julie is also one of our senior therapists with 16 years’ experience. She graduated as top student in 2010 for her post graduate Diploma in musculoskeletal therapy. Julie, an exceptional therapist has passed her 2013 studies with distinction. Julie will provide you with expert management of your condition.

Adrienne Walton-Jones
Bat Occupational Therapy

Adrienne is a Registered Occupational Therapist with an additional qualification in Hand Therapy. Adrienne specialises in Splint making and functional retraining of hands post injury/ surgery or amputation.
